This
point-of-view shot was taken by me from inside the fireplace during a
"fun" holiday game that Dad, Mom, Aunt Jo, and Uncle Paul called
"log." Here, they've gathered around to bask in the warmth after
designating me as "It" and then lighting me on fire.
Grandma complains loudly that there's absolutely no point in setting her
Grandson aflame ... when there are no marshmallows available to toast. She
is only placated after Aunt Jo showers her with dozens of holiday gifts.
Aunt
Jo and Mom, caught on film as they are about to tackle me. I was making a
mad dash for the sink to douse the flames that were covering 90 percent of my
body.
With the fire games over, Aunt Jo and Aunt Pat playfully taunt me about my
"roasted chestnuts."
"Hey
little girl ... Want to sit on Santa's lap?"
Aunt Pat strikes a pose, then goes nuts!
My
Mom (far left, behind the camera) leads the family in her favorite Christmas
carol: "Oh Thumb All Ye Faithful."
