A clam-tastic time was had by all at the 2004 Thomas Family Clambake, held July
17 in Dansville, NY. Pictured here (L-R) are: Carla, Noel, Allison, Jeff, Noel
again, Glenn, Jeff again, and my Dad.
Good
looks skip every other generation in the Thomas family, which is the reason
Grandpa and I posed for this picture by ourselves.
After sealing all of the seams in the walls of this room, Uncle Russ frosts a
piece of cake with the remaining all-purpose joint compound (yummmm).
Later, Mom's thumb chases Russ outside on account of his strange behavior.
Noel's
fiancé, Carla, before calmer minds finally convinced her to remove her favorite
hat.
With all of these great presents available to her, all that this pretty girl really
desires is the company of a goofy Thomas boy. Perhaps there's hope for
this world, after all!
Noel's
sister, Allison, warns Carla about what she's getting into.
This chart shows the evolutionary process over three generations of Thomas
women: Wil (Grandma), Katie (Mom), and Annika (Baby). Notice that the
infant has inherited the instinct and ability to cover her ears and tune out the
nonsense spewed forth by Thomas men, thus proving Darwin's theory.
Speaking
of babies, this is Daisy. Neither Daisy nor Colleen (her Mom) were
actually present at the clambake ... but this is my Web site, so I'll post
pictures wherever I see fit.
Here's Daisy again, this time with her Dad, Diavail, and brother, Grayson. In the
second picture, we lose Grayson in a sofa cushion as Diavail snuggles closer to Daisy.
Here
I am trying to convince this good natured, floppy eared gentleman to unleash me
from the rusty peg in the backyard to which I am tied.
Uncle Earl, Dad, May, and Nancy laugh at the expense of "the kid on the
leash."
Dad
breaks the news to me that there will be no actual clams served at this year's
clambake, and instead offers me these bizarre, rhyming alternatives:
"Lamb-bake," "Spam-bake," or "F. Murray
Abraham-bake."
Allison, Aunt Liv, Mom, Grandma, and Marguerite laugh at the expense of
"the girl in the funny hat."
Plenty
of spare all-purpose joint compound means dessert for everyone. Aunt Wil
asks Mom's thumb to invite Russ back inside for cake.
