Here again is my Uncle Glenn, pictured with my Aunt Wil. You'll
remember Uncle Glenn from last year's gallery marking
his 60th birthday celebration. One year later and a lot wiser, Glenn somehow
found a loophole around the jeffthomas.com rule that states family members shall receive a
photo gallery in their honor only once every 60 years. And so we present highlights
from Uncle Glenn's second annual 60th birthday party ...
A round of "pose with the nerd in the goofy shirt" is a great way to pass the
time while awaiting Glenn's arrival.
I get this reaction all of the time.
Left: Uncles Russ and Earl re-form their popular Sha-Na-Na tribute band for a
free concert in the kitchen.
Right: Citing "artistic differences," Uncle Earl leaves the band in
pursuit of a solo career on the living room couch.
The fans go wild.
Left: Dad and Grandpa secretly plot possible ways to embarrass my Mother.
Right: Dad scores the intended reaction with the old "rubbing the nipples on
camera" trick.
A startled Grandpa mistakes my cousin and her husband for "The
Incredible Two-Headed Transplant," which had recently played on late-night
television.
You'll remember Greg from Gallery
11, where we chronicled his marriage ceremony to my cousin Katie. Here, Greg is
pictured adjusting perfectly to married life. Mom does her best to console Katie,
but without the aid of a step ladder, a diminutive Mom is of little help.
The obligatory cat-in-a-bag photograph.
Did I mention that it was a surprise party? Here, in anticipation of Glenn's
arrival, guests contemplate good places to hide.
Dad and I find the best hiding spot ... directly behind my Mom's thumb.
