Surely by now you will recognize "Shogun Greg," a.k.a.
"The Space Age Bachelor" [Galleries 8, 27, 31, 40, and yesterday's
Christmas gallery]. Here, this famous Japanese warrior king/swinging single
professes a knowledge of "at least 25 ways to behead a man using only an aluminum
holiday tree and color wheel."
Grin and "bear" it: My friend Steve [a.k.a. "Sweet
Meat"], with his mom Alice, his sister Pattie and an unidentified teddy.
Steve and I are such good friends because we are so much alike. For example, we
often elicit similar reactions from members of our families. Pictured here trying to flee
from her maniacal uncle is Steve's niece Jaimie. Similarly, making mad dashes in
different directions away from yours truly are my Aunt Jo and my Grandmother.
Pictured alongside comedy legend Ray Stevens is a girl that Steve and I
know named Patty.
Aunt Jo and Aunt Pat carefully stand guard alongside Grandma and Grandpa as they open
their gifts. This has been a family "tradition" since I was six years old
and I tried to sneak off with a microwave oven that they received hidden underneath my
shirt.
Aunt Jo, Aunt Pat and Mom, looking so adorable that you almost forget
that this picture is actually from a police line-up.
A tough audience: Even with all of the festivities, my parents' cats remain unimpressed.
And finally, an army of jeffthomas.com regulars lunge toward the camera
with their thumbs extended in an effort to obstruct its lens. It's a holiday
tradition designed to honor my Mother's unique photographic style:
