This is Greg. You'll remember him from Gallery #8, where he was featured as "Shogun Greg," the
military leader of all of Japan. That was a year ago, in a 45th birthday celebration
that would culminate in the ritual beheading of my father by the blade of the warrior
king. But times have changed. Miraculously, Dad's head has grown back.
And one year later, on Greg's 46th birthday, the once-fierce Japanese overlord is intent
on showing the world that "Shogun Greg" is a happier, more easygoing man.
Moreover, he is a man who is capable of wearing many different hats ...
... including this ridiculous balloon crown, rejected from the
"Island of Misfit Toys."
"This thing doesn't bite, does it?"
Mom and Greg's sister Carla are the first among us brave enough to approach Greg and his
Japanese squid-monster hat.
The King appoints his Queen.
I knew that there was a logical explanation for the Shogun's newfound
glee!
Anne Marie is another loyal subject.

Finally, someone entirely
too cool to wear that stupid balloon crown ... |
... OOPS, I lied. |
Mom, Dad and Greg's father, Tom, are happy to be a safe distance away
from Greg's hat.
Friends Bob and Chris react to Greg's less-than-tuneful karaoke
rendition of the Rolling Stone's "Lets Spend The Night Together" by longing for
the days when the Shogun would simply lop off your head if he wanted to kill you.
